Eiffel Tower Priority Entrance

They first started to dig the Eiffel Tower on the 26th of January 1887, and it took 2 years, 2 months and 5 days to construct it! The Eiffel Tower contains a whopping 2,500.000 rivets!

The Eiffel Tower was the winning design of 107 projects submitted for the preparations of the World’s Fair of 1889 and it was entrepreneur, Gustave Eiffel’s design that won!

Gustave Eiffel then went on to have an office at the top of the Eiffel Tower and even to this day it remains. You can’t go into it, but you can view it from the outside and there are some wax figures in there of Gustave Eiffel himself, along with his daughter, Claire, and they are welcoming Thomas Edison (the inventor of the lightbulb!).

The Eiffel Tower receives around 7,000,000 visitors per year! That averages out to an incredible 19,178 per day!
